The regulating valve, also known as the control valve. In the field of industrial automation process control, the final control element of process parameters such as medium flow, pressure, temperature, and liquid levels is changed by receiving control signals output by regulating control unit output. Generally consisting of executive agencies and valves.

The regulating valve is suitable for air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil and other media. The bit number usually starts at FV. Common classification of regulatory valves: pneumatic regulating valve, electric regulating valve, liquid dynamic regulating valve, self -type regulating valve.
If according to the characteristics of the itinerary, the regulating valve can be divided into direct strokes and corner strokes; according to the power used by the execution agency it is equipped, it can be divided into three types: pneumatic regulatory valve, electric regulating valve, and hydraulic regulating valve; according to its functions and characteristics Three types of linear characteristics, equivalent percentage characteristics and parabolic line characteristics.
Before installing the control valve, you need to know the following points:
The installation position of the control valve requires a certain height from the ground, and there must be a certain space above and below the valve to facilitate the disassembly and repair of the valve. For regulating valves equipped with pneumatic valve positioners and handwheels, it must be easy to operate, observe and adjust.
The regulating valve should be installed on the horizontal pipeline, and the top and bottom are vertical to the pipeline. Generally, it should be supported under the valve to ensure stability and reliability. For special occasions, when the regulating valve needs to be installed horizontally on a vertical pipeline, the regulating valve should also be supported (except for the small-diameter regulating valve). When installing, avoid adding additional stress to the regulating valve).
The working environment temperature of the control valve should be (-30~+60), and the relative humidity should not be greater than 95%.
There should be a straight pipe section at the front and rear of the regulating valve, and the length should not be less than 10 times the pipe diameter (10D), so as to avoid the straight pipe section of the valve being too short and affecting the flow characteristics.
When the diameter of the regulating valve is not the same as that of the process pipeline, it should be connected with a reducer. Threaded connections can be used when installing small-diameter control valves. The fluid direction arrow on the valve body should be consistent with the fluid direction.
To set up the bypass pipe. The purpose is to facilitate switching or manual operation, and the control valve can be repaired without stopping.
Before installing the regulating valve, thoroughly remove foreign matter in the pipeline, such as dirt, welding slag, etc.
The Main Contents Of Inspection In Daily Maintenance Of Control Valve
(1) Learn about the operation of the regulating valve from the process operator on duty;
(2) Check whether the air supply pressure of the regulating valve, the positioner (electrical converter) and the purification of the air source are normal;
(3) Check whether the air pipe joint is leaking or loose;
(4) Check whether the operation of the actuator is flexible;
(5) Check whether the output of the regulator, the output of the positioner (converter) and the action position of the regulating valve correspond;
(6) When the regulating valve is in the manual position, observe whether the regulating valve stem still moves up and down. If there is, check the regulating valve actuator, and deal with the problem in time;
(7) Check whether the dynamic and static sealing points of the actuator and the regulating valve are leaking;
(8) Place the auscultation probe at the valve stem to detect whether the valve core and valve seat have abnormal noise and large vibration during dynamic operation;
(9) Find problems and deal with them in a timely manner, and make a patrol inspection record.
Electric 3-way mixing control valves and pneumatic 3-way mixing control valves serve similar functions in fluid control systems, but they differ in terms of their actuation method, control mechanism, and application areas.
Electric 3-way mixing control valves are actuated by an electric motor or solenoid, which receives signals from a control system to adjust the valve’s position and control the flow of fluid. This electric actuation allows for precise and accurate control over the valve’s position and flow rate.
Pneumatic 3-way mixing control valves are actuated by compressed air or gas, which is supplied to a pneumatic actuator. The actuator then adjusts the valve’s position based on the pressure signals received, thereby regulating the flow of fluid. Pneumatic actuation tends to be faster and more responsive compared to electric actuation but may require additional equipment such as air compressors and control valves.
Electric 3-way mixing control valves typically use electrically driven actuators and positioners, which provide precise control over the valve’s position and allow for modulation of flow rates and mixing ratios. These valves are often equipped with feedback mechanisms such as position sensors or flow meters to ensure accurate control.
Pneumatic 3-way mixing control valves use pneumatic actuators, which rely on the pressure of the compressed air or gas to control the valve’s position. While pneumatic actuators can provide fast response times, they may have limitations in terms of precision and accuracy compared to electric actuators.
Electric 3-way mixing control valves are commonly used in applications where precise control and modulation of flow rates are required, such as HVAC systems, industrial processes, and laboratory equipment. They are well-suited for applications that require fine-tuning of mixing ratios or temperature control.
Pneumatic 3-way mixing control valves are often preferred in environments where compressed air or gas is readily available and where fast response times are critical, such as pneumatic control systems, pneumatic conveying systems, and certain industrial processes. They are typically used in applications where high-speed actuation and reliability are prioritized over precision control.
In summary, the main differences between electric and pneumatic 3-way mixing control valves lie in their actuation method, control mechanism, and application areas. Electric valves offer precise control and accuracy, while pneumatic valves provide fast response times and reliability. The choice between the two depends on the specific requirements of the application, including the need for precision, speed, and availability of power sources.
The electric 3-way mixing control valve is mainly used for mixing two fluids into a third fluid; the 3 way diverging electric control valve is mainly used for dividing one fluid into two fluids.
electrical 3-way control valves represent a significant advancement in fluid control technology, offering precise modulation of flow rates and directions in various industrial, commercial, and residential applications. With their versatility, efficiency, and automation capabilities, these valves play a crucial role in optimizing process performance, enhancing energy efficiency, and ensuring reliable operation of fluid systems in a wide range of environments. As technology continues to evolve, electrical 3-way control valves will undoubtedly remain at the forefront of fluid control innovation, driving efficiency, sustainability, and performance in fluid management systems worldwide.
Precise Control: With their ability to modulate flow rates and directions, 3-way control valves offer precise control over fluid systems, allowing for fine-tuning of process parameters to meet specific requirements.
Energy Efficiency: By adjusting the flow of fluids in HVAC systems and industrial processes, these valves help optimize energy usage and reduce operational costs.
Space-Saving Design: The compact and versatile design of electrical 3-way control valves makes them ideal for installations where space is limited, allowing for efficient use of available space in equipment rooms and control panels.
Automation Compatibility: These valves can be easily integrated with automation systems, allowing for remote control and monitoring of fluid flow operations, thereby enhancing system efficiency and reliability.
